I'm having an event, which PA do I need? It can be confusing. Our packages give an indication of each system’s capabilities in terms of performance type and size of venue / audience. It is always best to ask, and we will be happy to advise you. I’ve been quoted a cheaper price than your price list. Will you match it? Our prices are very keen, but we will always consider a price-match. However, PA systems are extremely diverse so we would have to make sure that we are comparing like-for-like. For example: Power ratings (Watts) can be misleading as there are many other factors in choosing a system. A system which is more sensitive will offer greater volume for the same amount of power. All of our systems offer exceptionally high sensitivity and are able to reproduce audio with clarity at much higher SPL’s (Sound Pressure Levels) than budget loudspeakers. Can you match my budget? We will always try to help when the budget is tight. We can often recommend alternative cost effective solutions Do you deliver? Yes we do. Delivery starts at £10 each way and we can deliver most items nationwide. When are you open? We are open Monday to Friday 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM, Saturdays 10:30 AM to 1.00 PM. Can I collect my equipment outside your opening hours? Yes, by prior arrangement. What type of ID do I have to provide to hire equipment? Two: One with proof of address (e.g. a utility bill or statement) and one with proof of signature (this must be a driver’s licence or passport). We will take a photocopy of these. How can I pay? You can pay by all major credit cards, cheque (with a valid guarantee card), PayPal and cash. Do you hire Band Equipment? We can arrange for backline amplifiers and instruments through our associated companies. As these are not stock items, we do require some notice. POA Do you hire Lights? No. We specialise in audio - (Other than one of our packages which includes some moving lights.) However, we have associations with several excellent lighting companies which we would be happy to recommend. You can find them on the Links page. Do you hire Decks/DJ or Karaoke Kit? No. The quality of our equipment exceeds the normal level required by this area. Local music shops are better placed to deal with this. What happens if I have a technical problem? We have staff on call 24 hours a day every day except Christmas day. Is it insured? No. Insurance is down to you. See Terms and Conditions. Do you give discounts? We offer discounts for quantity and extended hire periods. We also give discounts for charity events and education. Can I buy the equipment? Not usually, unless the stock in question is due for renewal or we have a dealership with the manufacturer. We are always happy to recommend a good supplier. . Can I bring a band to your studio? Not usually. The studio is set up to work comprehensively with writers, singers and producers on shows, sound effects, jingles, post production and some demos. Do you know what all those buttons do? (Frequently asked by theatre audiences) Yes. Thank you for asking. And yes, we do need them all! Does it have to be that loud? (Asked by those who don’t get out much) Pardon? Does it have to be that quiet? (Usually asked immediately after the previous question) ‘Show volume’ is always appropriate to the type of production and takes into account the style of music, venue acoustics, size of audience and wishes of the producers. Why the name ‘Crescendo’? The word – musically speaking - means ‘to get louder’- literally ’to grow’. It’s a positive word which is beautiful to say. And it’s internationally synonymous with music, sound and growth - which is why our motto is ‘Crescendo…increasing the power of music’
